Wilson Odas Shrum was a teacher, attended Will Mayfield College in Marble Hill, Missouri. He was a farmer, a school board member, and citizen of the community. Eula, his wife, tried to run the farm by herself after her husband died of a heart attack and her son went into service in 1942 (World War II). She was unable to keep up the farm and later worked for Brown Shoe Company.
